A note of thanks

With gratitude from the Organizing Committee

On 2 October 2026, at Hotel du Parc Hanoi, the 8th International Conference on Quality Management and Food Safety (QMFS 2026) came to a successful close. Organized by the School of Chemistry and Life Sciences, Hanoi University of Science and Technology, together with VinaCert, the University of Greenwich, the University of Kent and LASE University Group, the conference was one of the flagship events celebrating the 70th anniversary of HUST (1956 – 2026).

We sincerely thank every delegate, guest, speaker and scientist, from Vietnam and abroad, who gave their time, knowledge and perspective. Your presence turned QMFS 2026 into a truly interdisciplinary forum where regulators, researchers and industry sat at the same table for safer, more sustainable food.

Our special thanks go to the Vietnam Food Administration (Ministry of Health), the British Embassy Hanoi, The Academy of Medical Sciences (UK), our sponsors and industry partners, the Scientific Committee, the session chairs, and the staff, lecturers and student volunteers who looked after every detail of the day.

Key takeaways

Messages that stay with us

01

Risk-based, data-driven management

New legislation puts risk-based control across the whole supply chain, from production to distribution, supported by digitalization and a unified national food safety database.

Dr. Chu Quoc Thinh – Vietnam Food Administration
02

AI and “digital chemical fingerprints”

Artificial intelligence can support risk management, while spectral data combined with IoT and blockchain can build digital chemical fingerprints to detect food fraud.

Prof. Pham Quoc Long – VANPS
03

Circular economy & agricultural by-products

Climate change, population growth and antimicrobial resistance call for better use of agricultural by-products, such as extracting protein from rice side-streams through UK–Southeast Asia partnerships.

Prof. Anil Kumar Anal (AIT) & Dr. Parag Acharya (NRI)
